The advantages we can get from volcano ( Windura ) X IPA

Although volcanoes have the reputation of being very dangerous, (Volcanoes can kill people and animals. They can be very destructive.) there nevertheless are advantages of living near a.Volcanoes provide resources for energy extraction, also called geothermal resources. Heat from the earth's crust is being converted to energy. The big advantages to this type of energy are that it is very clean and the resources are nearly inexhaustible. When a volcano erupts it throws out a lot of ash. At short notice this ash can be very harmful to the environment, but on the long term the ash layer, which contains many useful minerals, will be converted to a very fertile soil.Nearly everywhere volcanoes are located people use the rich soil for farming. Even after an eruption people still return because of the fertile soil around the volcano. Volcanoes can produce very spectacular scenery like the beautiful sunsets caused by explosive eruptions. Other features include plant-rich environments, stunning eruptions, beautiful lava fountains etc. Arenal volcano, situated in Costa Rica. It emits streams of lava and it throws out glowing stones which give a beautiful effect. A big economical advantage of volcano is that they generate tourism. A country such as Hawaii is getting a lot income from tourism.

The Most Active Volcano In The World (by Areza Febriliyan)

In this world there are 5 of 21 most active volcanoes in the world, there are:

Mt Etna volcano

Mt Etna is the largest active volcano in Europe. It has an elliptical base (38 x 47 km) and a maximum elevation of about 3350 m. The volcano dominates the landscape of NE Sicily, Italy. Mt Etna has the longest period of documented eruptions in the world. Etna is noted for the wide variety of eruption styles. The volcano is at its most spectacular when when both summit and flank eruptions occur simultaneously.

Stromboli volcano

Stromboli is the northeastern most of the Aeolian Islands. Stromboli volcano has one of the world's longest recorded periods of activity. The active craters are located 100-150 m below Pizzo sopra la Fossa. A collapse depression called Sciara del Fuoco is located below the active craters.

Yasur Volcano

Yasur volcano, in southern Vanuatu is one of the world's most active volcanoes. The volcano has erupted many times per hour for at least 800 years. Yasur has been called the "Lighthouse of the Pacific" because of the regular Strombolian eruptions visible from sea.

Ambrym Volcano

Ambrym Island is the Jewel of the Pacific. The island is located in central Vanuatu and contains one of the world's most active volcanoes. Lava lakes regularly appear in the summit craters. Several times per century, Ambrym volcano erupts violently. In 1913-14 the volcano produced the largest eruption in 400 years in Melanesia. The island is located in central Vanuatu along the main shipping lane between Port Vila and Espiritu Santo. The island is also noted for magic, sand drawing, rom dance, and tamtam carvings.

Tinakula Volcano

Tinakula is an active volcano 40 km from Santa Cruz island. The island has an impressive stratovolcano shape. An active summit crater ejects glowing lava bombs down the SW side of the volcano. Tinakula Island used to be inhabited before the 1971 eruption and tsunami. The volcano has been known to be active since reported by Mendana in 1595.

6 volcanoes in hawaii by:aurora

Hawaii have 6 volcanoes :
1.

Kilauea is one of the world's most active volcanoes in hawaii. The volcano has been in constant eruption since 1983. A large collapse occurred at Kilauea volcano in November 2005. Lava flows destroyed three houses in Royal Gardens subdivision in February 2008.

2.

Mauna Loa volcano is one of the tallest mountains in the world. When measured from its base on the sea floor, it rises more than 17,000 m (56,000 feet). Mauna Loa volcano is approaching its longest historical period of inactivity, 25 years. Mauna Loa volcano is spreading because its size is large compared to the thin basal layer.

3.

Hualalai is the westermost shield volcano on the island of Hawaii. Eruptions of Hualalai Volcano in 1800-01 occurred from 5 vents with two lava flows reaching the sea.

Hualalai began growing on the west flank of Mauna Kea about 800,000 years ago, and rose above sea level 300,000 years ago. The northwest rift zone of Hualala continues for a distance of 40 km, to a depth of 3000 m.

4.

Mauna Kea is the second highest volcano in the hawaii. It is a dormant volcano with a small posibility of eruptions in the future. Eighty percent of people who summit Mauna Kea suffer from altitude illness, due to rapid ascent from sea level.

5.

Kohala is the oldest volcano on the Big island of Hawaii.
The summit is broad and covered with trees. Kohala is the oldest of Hawaii's five volcanoes. Kohala is in a transition between postshield and erosional stage.

Kohala volcano had grown to its maximum height before its southern flank was buried beneath lava erupted from Mauna Kea.

Mega-tsunami deposits have been found on Kohala volcano, from flank collapse of Mauna Loa about 110,000 years ago. The mega-tsunami reached a height of 61 m above the present sea level, and a runup distance of up to 6 km inland.

6. Loihi is the youngest of the Hawaiian volcanoes. It is located 35 km SE of the Big Island of Hawaii. Earthquakes are frequently measured at the volcano.

The World’s Worst Volcanic Eruptions (Amira)

The World’s Worst Volcanic Eruptions

As Measured by Death Toll

This list of the world’s worst volcanic eruptions includes only those whose death toll can be reasonably documented. The death toll from some of the worst eruptions in history can only be guessed. The eruption of Santorini in Greece in 1650 BC destroyed competely destroyed entire civilizations. Scientist also theorize that an eruption of Tuba around 75,000 years ago caused a volcanic winter that came close to wiping out mankind.

1.
Mt. Tambora, Indonesia
April 10 - 15, 1816
Death Toll: 92,000

The eruption of Tambora killed an estimated 92,000 people, including 10,000 from explosion and ash fall, and 82,000 from other related causes.

The concussion from the explosion was felt as far as a thousand miles away. Mt. Tambora, which was more than 13,000 feet tall before the explosion was reduced to 9,000 feet after ejecting more than 93 cubic miles of debris into the atmosphere.

The effects of the eruption were felt worldwide: 1816 became known as the “year without a summer” because of the volcanic ash in the atmosphere that lowered worldwide temperatures. It snowed in New England that June, and crop failures were common throughout Northern Europe and North America. As many as 100,000 additional deaths from starvation in these areas are thought to be traced to the eruption.

2.
Mt. Pelee, West Indies
April 25 - May 8, 1902
Death Toll: 40,000

Thought to be dormant, Mt. Pelee began a series of eruptions on April 25, 1902. The primary eruption, on May 8 completely destroyed the city of St. Pierre, killing 25,000. The only survivors were a man held in a prison cell, and a man who lived on the outskirts of the town. Several ships also were destroyed with all hands.

3.
Mt. Krakatoa, Indonesia
August 26 - 28, 1883
Death Toll: 36,000

The August 1883 of Mt. Krakatoa (Krakatua) destroyed 2/3 of the island, ejecting more than six cubic miles of debris into the atmosphere. The sound of the explosion was the loudest ever documented, and was heard as far away as Australia.

Interestingly, it’s probable that no one died in the initial explosion. The casualties all came from the resulting tsunami.

4.
Nevado del Ruiz, Columbia
November 13, 1985
Death Toll: 23,000

A small eruption of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano melted part of the volcano’s ice cap, creating an enormous mudslide that buried the city of Armero, killing 23,000.

5.
Mt. Unzen, Japan
1792
Death Toll: 12,000 - 15,000

The eruption of Mt. Unzen was followed by an earthquake, which collapsed the east flank of the dome. The resulting avalance created a tsuanami which killed 12,000 to 15,000 in nearby towns.

6.
Mt. Vesuvius, Italy
April 24, AD 79
Death Toll: 10,000+

In one of the most famous eruptions of all time, Mt. Vesuvius erupted and completely destroyed the Roman towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The eruption, which is said to have lasted 19 hours, buried Pompeii in ten feet of volcanic ash. The intense heat—perhaps as much as 750 degrees—carbonized much of the organic material in the area. Many of the victims have been found with the tops of their heads missing—their brains having boiled and exploded.

7.
The Laki Volcanic System, Iceland
June 8, 1783 - February 1784
Death Toll: 9350

Nearly a year of constant eruptions created a dusty volcanic haze that created massive food shortages. Iceland suffered 9,350 deaths mostly due to starvation.

8.
Mt. Vesuvius, Italy
December 1631
Death Toll: 6,000

The notorious Mt. Vesuvius has erupted more than a dozen times since it destroyed the towns of Pompeii and Herculaneum. The 1631 eruption killed as many as 6,000 people when lava flows consumed many of the surrounding towns. Boiling water ejected from the volcanos added to the destruction.

9.
Mt. Kelut, Indonesia
May 19, 1919
Death Toll: 5,110

Most of the casualties apparently were the result of mudslides.

10.
Mt. Galunggung, Java, Indonesia
1882
Death Toll: 4,011

My House

By: Galih (XI-HEP)

My House located at Perumahan Wirosaban Baru blok D no.3 Yogyakarta. It has a lot of trees inside and outside of the house. In front of my house there are a lot of farms. The farms are producing wheat. And usually in the afternoon, there are few mad cows that work there with the farmer of course.

My House is the best place for me. Everywhere I go, still, My House is the best place to live. I already live here for about 10 years. And my house has already got renovated, so it has a big difference with the first time I got here. My House used to be 1 floor. But my parents renovated it, and now it has 2 floors. Me and My Parents have a plan to make a fish pound because I like fish so much. In my house I got 2 fish tanks. And I bought it all by myself. I have my own room. But there’s no television in my room. I only got toys cabinet, bed, wardrobe, desk, and a computer inside my room. I’ve plan to use wallpaper on my wall.

Figures cabinet that located in my room is the best thing I got in my room. Because I like figures, so my parents made me figures cabinet.
